Local Man Loses Life in Tragic Pedestrian Accident

Police Investigate, Call for Witnesses to Come Forward

Ulyanovsk, Russia - According to a recent press release from the Main Directorate for Traffic Safety of the Ulyanovsk Oblast, a local man lost his life in a pedestrian accident on July 15, 2023.

The victim, identified as 35-year-old Dmitry Kuznetsov, was crossing the street at an unmarked crosswalk when he was struck by a car. The driver of the car, a 22-year-old woman, remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

Kuznetsov was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The police are investigating the accident and have asked for any witnesses to come forward.

This is the second pedestrian fatality in Ulyanovsk Oblast this year. In January, a 6-year-old girl was killed when she was hit by a car while walking to school.

The Main Directorate for Traffic Safety urges pedestrians to use crosswalks and obey traffic signals. Drivers are reminded to be aware of pedestrians and to yield the right of way.
